"The Listener" asked,
What is the suggested punishment for breaking this proposed law?
I don't know -- maybe being forced to try having a conversation with YOU?
many young jw women are "married off" to virtual strangers, often older men, soon after they are of legal age.. did this happen to you?.
did it happen to a close friend or sibling?.
tell us about it.. from universal life ministries on facebook:.

From Universal Life Ministries on FaceBook:
A young woman is forced to marry a man she does not love, and has no desire to be with. This deplorable practice continues to happen in less-developed countries, but is long gone in the U.S., right? Wrong, according to a startling new report by PBS – each year, thousands of American women and girls are forced into marriages against their will. Now, they are starting to speak out.
These marriages typically occur in close-knit, religiously conservative communities where young women have little control over their own lives. When a woman’s family decides it’s time for her to marry, they will find a suitable husband and arrange the marriage themselves. Several women shared their disturbing personal experiences in the report, describing the incredible pressure put on them to comply. Not wanting to upset their families, they agreed to go through with it.
To make matters worse, divorce is highly frowned upon in communities where forced marriages take place. This leaves many women stuck in miserable – and sometimes abusive – relationships, with few avenues for escape. Is it time to pass a law barring this oppressive tradition?

thanks atlantis!.
M. C. Rutherford (the Judge's son) is listed as a Deacon.
This may have been during the period when "da Judge" had left the WTB&TS to run a company in Los Angeles. In 1916 "da Judge" got a telegraph reading "the old man is dead," and he took off for Broolyn like a jacked-up Jack Rabbit.

thanks atlantis!.
Atlantis does GREAT work, but I want to offer a critique here, and I am making it public so that others can benefit from this insight.
If you look at the .pdf image from Atlantis, you will see that it displays an artifact that is known as "read-through." The images show BOTH sides of the page.
The way to fix this is counter-intuitive to many, and I expect at least one of the chimps here will tell me I'm WRONG without bothering to TRY the suggestion first. ...the "pearls before swine" effect.
Anyway, the way to ELIMINATE "read-through" when you are scanning a document is to put a sheet of BLACK paper behind (on top of) the original document, then scan the document.
You're welcome.
does anybody remember some of the sensational demon stories jw's would tell back in the day?
i was a kid in the early 80's and i remember a few times hearing of people having real life encounters with demons.
for example, one sister claimed that before she became a jdub she would regularly talk to demons and they would even fix stuff like her washing machine!
...and the HITS just KEEP ON COMIN"!

Greetings, greetings, fellow campers! Let's gather 'round the campfire while Uncle Natas digs into his Watchtower crypts for some REAL SCARY STORIES! As my cousin Count Floyd used to say, "Ooooh kids! That's SCARY!"
If you like these, I'll DIG UP more of 'em!
I get the impression "Father Divine" was a NYC-based attention-seeker. I'm finding more about him...
i know that in the past some have asked about this.
i would add that before you dry the matzoh, run a docker over the cracker or prick it all over with a fork.
this is supposed to prevent large "blisters" from forming, and the dough enjoys it.. .
Millie210 asked, "... has a vaguely kosher sound to it doesn't it?"
It does, doesn't it? Back then I suppose the assumption was that spring water was "good" water... and I think it took about 100 years for the WTB&TS to accept the "germ theory of disease.
The Watchtower "companion magazines" back then tried to be the hard-copy iPad of its day. It did poorly in any role it played.
hey guys, just your son.
i don't mean to bother you, however i came across something really interesting pertaining to the last time me and dad had a "bible discussion" i thought you should see, and since it's straight from the horses mouth so to speak, i assumed you'd be willing to.. just in case you forgot, at the time, i was making the argument that:.
) the new world translation when compared to other well known and accepted translations replace several words which seem to change the meaning.
Your folks have access to an electron microscope, I gather.
